This sketch is an introduction to the idea I have for the Midterm project.
This sketch is part of an ongoing development towards my midterm project: The horizon clock. It is inspired by the horizon’s transient nature towards the light in order to portray the passing of time. As an early development, I explored different patterns of light and how they reflected on a wall surface. I played around with timing, colors, gradients, and transitions. The video below is a one-minute video that compiles some of them.
Schematic/ Power connection :
I was considering and independent power source for the midterm. Considering the following calculations:
Low-light level : 144 NeoPixels × 20 mA ÷ 1,000 = 2.88 Amps minimum
Max-light level : 144 NeoPixels × 60 mA ÷ 1,000 = 8.64 Amps minimum
I started with the code Adafruit gives as a starter template in this site. I later started making my own from that template. You can find the repository here. Also thanks to Tweaking4all for some very useful code snippets.
